Learning to drive on an intensive driving course in Scotland (sometimes known as a     crash course) is both an enjoyable and fantastic way to learn to drive in the shortest time without compromising safety. Intensive driving courses can be taken in either Perth, Dundee or Blairgowrie & are available all the year round.

If you live outside of these areas you can either start your intensive driving course at Perth or Dundee railway stations or from your hotel should you want to book a residential intensive driving course (students travel daily from Aberdeen, Carnoustie, Aberfeldy, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Forfar, Fife, Pitlochry, Crieff). Residential students have travelled from France, Canada, Spain, South America, Australia, London, Manchester, Sheffield Leeds, Scottish Borders.

[Note! UK driving regulations - students who travel from overseas must have been resident in the UK for at least 185 days within the last 12 months to hold a UK provisional driving licence.]

Scottish hotel accommodation is plentiful in this beautiful part of the world. When you book your intensive driving course with me I can give you a list of suitable accommodation in the area. The price of your intensive driving course does not include accommodation costs.

Learning to drive in Scotland is less stressful for you than if you live in a large city, since you are away from the distractions of your normal environment & might have a limited amount of time to learn to drive. Living outside of Perth, Dundee or Blairgowrie means you are able to choose in which area you would like to book your intensive driving course.
Accommodation should be added to the price of your course and is approximately £28/33 per night for B&B, prices will vary according to season and availability.

Intensive driving courses in Scotland are available all year round subject to availability. You can take a short intensive driving course in as little as 2 days or as many as you need. All intensive driving courses are tailored to suit your needs.

Scottish driving school intensive courses are personally given by myself & I do not employ contract driving instructors or trainee driving instructors. I am a fully qualified professional driving instructor registered with the DSA & a professional Life Coach. As you can appreciate I am a very busy driving instructor & intensive driving courses can get booked up very quickly.

I conduct intensive driving course in Perth, Dundee & Blairgowrie area's. Although I have mentioned Blairgowrie the driving test centre has now been closed by the DSA. I do though still conduct intensive driving courses there, it just means we have to travel to either Perth or Dundee for your driving test.

All intensive driving courses come with a structured learning programme designed to help you understand where you are at any time with your driver training. You are treated as an individual student with specific needs & are not expected to conform to the 'education box system' that seems to be the way that most driving schools operate.

Your driving lesson structure means that there is an overall lesson plan designed to raise your confidence & driver knowledge in a step by step approach, but you are never going to be expected to perform to a set of rigid rules rules such as "After so many lessons you should be doing 'xyz'". No two people learn at the same rate.

Intensive driving courses - 1-2-1 driving tuition

All intensive driving courses come with 1-2-1 driving tuition as standard. This means that only you & myself are in the driving school car whilst you are having your driving lessons. You need to be aware of this because if you are searching around for the best intensive driving courses deals you may find that the cheaper driving courses have up to 3 students in the car at the same time. Which means you will only be getting 20 minutes driving practice every hour.

Intensive driving courses Pass Plus

Intensive driving courses are perfect for Pass Plus students who need to gain extra driving experience after passing their driving test. When you book an intensive driving course to complete your Pass Plus qualification you can achieve it in a single day. I personally do not think that's advisable, but it is possible. You are required to complete a minimum of 6 hours driver training to qualify for your Pass Plus certificate which I think is better achieved over 2 or 3 days. That way you will have time to absorb the new information & be able to apply it more usefully in your driving.

Weekend courses

Weekend intensive driving courses are available on a regular basis. This type of course is ideal for the busy professional or people who are unable to complete their driver training in the week.

A weekend course can be taken as a Saturday or Sunday only and there is no commitment to book every weekend. You could even book a trial weekend to see if it is right for you.

Residential courses

Residential & local courses are available all year round in Perth, Dundee or Blairgowrie. Residential courses help to keep you focused whilst you are away from your normal daily routine.

New driver weekend courses

New drivers (beginners) are advised to start their driver training by having as many driving lessons as they can over a short period of time. This will help re-inforce the correct procedures for driving away fom the kerb, parking, gear changing & road procedures. A theory test pass is not required for this type of course. An intensive driving course for new drivers is not intended to get you through your test in a week. Those days have long since gone and if you see any websites out there that say any different, then treat them with suspician. You will learn to drive over a few weekend courses, but you may not be ready for your driving test.

Previous driving lessons experience

Learner drivers with previous driving experience can sometimes book their driving test at the end of their driving course depending on what previous experience they have had and how long ago.
Your driving lessons may have been sometime ago & taken with a great driving instructor or one of the not so greats. You may have taken a driving test or two or had over 100 driving lessons of poor quality either yours through lack of concentration or your driving instructors lack of attention to your training. Either way, you might be best to book a trial lesson with me before you book your driving test. A trial lesson is not required to book your course unless a driving test is required at the end of your course. Learner drivers with a good driving record of training might only need to book one of the weekend courses.
